August 7, 2016 Sunday

Bits seems to have achieved some kind of success with the CDR
and IMEI data analysis.

Not sure about the nature of it.

No, nothing uncovered. False Alarm.

The evil may still go scot-free as there is no strong evidence
linking him to Raja Pallanisami Devendra.

Bedtime Story

As a young man, I fell for the just-world hypothesis, hook, line and sinker.

How could I not, for it was so romantic and appealing.

If I had an affluent childhood, good Convent English schooling, great and healthy parents and siblings, it was because somehow I had earned it or deserved it (How I earned it I never gave a thought to it).

But it also implied as a corollary that those who were poor, unfortunate, miserable too deserved it either by their evil deeds or inactivity.

This rosy picture was destroyed as the reality hit me as I grew older and managed to see, observe and study more of the world.

The fact is that people are poor or failures by the law of chance or the hand of the fate.

As Dr. House said:
"You get what you get."

But the world that we live in or have created is a topsy turvy one;
We are now made to believe that poverty is a fair reward for inefficiency.

In this era of privatisation and free markets, the media and the people around us enforce that success is there to have;
One just needs to grasp it.

Advertising enjoins everyone to consume, right from high end electronics to luxury cars.

While the economy prohibits the vast majority from doing so.

This world puts on a banquet for all and then slams the door in the noses of majority.

The world is equalizing in the ideas of lifestyle and habits it imposes yet it is unequal in the opportunities it offers.

Through the mass media the owners of the world like Reliance, Tata, Mercedes and Apple inform us of our obligation to look at ourselves in a single mirror.

Whoever doesn't have, isn't.

He or she who has no luxury car or doesn't wear designer clothes or imported perfume is only pretending to exist.

But we all know the reality.

Whoever is not a prisoner of necessity is a prisoner of fear.

They are deprived of sleep by status anxiety of things they are lacking or a fear of losing the things they possess.

The world at large rewards the "killer instinct", lack of scruples and feeds cannibalism but scorns honesty.

The directive that everybody must do or acquire what so many cannot becomes an invitation to the crime.

And what is true for the individuals is also true for nations as a whole.

Latin America, South Asia and Russia are prime examples.

They are slave economies which masquerades as  modern ones;
They pay African wages, charge European prices and the merchandise produced most efficiently is injustice, corruption and violence.

Good night mon ami and my fellow cousin ape.
