Today after a long wait, finally the second wave of demolition.
Saw Ramniklal Veera, father of evil, making frantic phone calls.
Father, Nitin and Vishal had a meeting at Preetam Da Dhaba.
Let us what comes out of it.
The sons of both Sanjay Veera and Nilesh Veera came to our flat.
They had the audacity to attack Bits and threaten the whole family.
They were both abusive, arrogant and threatening.
Police had to called and immediately an FIR was lodged.
They have been charged under the IPC Section 506 (20, 504 and 34.
Section 506 deals with the offense of criminal intimidation.
But guess what?
The best part.
Both these rascals escaped right under the noses of the cops.
From the police station.
Now this speaks volumes about corruption in police.
Bedtime Story
To understand the idea of stellar nucleosynthesis, or simply the way elements are formed in the universe, I need to take once again to late 1800s and early 1900s.
The earliest proponents of nucleosynthesis had a vague notion that the chemical elements of the periodic table were created at the beginning of the universe.
They had no rational or meaningful idea or understanding of how it could have happened.
In fact, then they had very little knowledge either about the age of the universe or its beginning.
Then in 1870 in Lille, France was born a boy who would be labelled Jean Baptiste Perrin.
Obviously very little will be known about him in the English speaking world as we all are biased people and biased writers favouring our own tribes just as we do with local gods.
He graduated with physics from the elite Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) in Paris that was initially thought of during the French Revolution.
The ENS is a grande ecole (grand school), and falls outside the mainstream university system (some like Manipal deemed University of India).
Perrin had made following contributions to science:
1. He showed that the cathode rays carried negative charge in 1895
2. He determined Avogadro's number using several different methods
(6.022 X 1023 per mol)
3. After Einstein published his theoretical explanation of Brownian movement in 1905, Perrin experimentally verified it.
It settled the century old controversy of Dalton's atomic theory (a very very powerful theory as you will be knowing by now).
For this he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for the year 1926.
But the reason I am writing about Jean Perrin is this:
In 1919 he put forward the idea that nuclear reactions could be the source of energy in the stars.
(Americans claim that it was their William Draper Harkins who first proposed the principle of nuclear fusion in 1915, four years before Perrin.)
Perrin had noticed that the mass of helium atom is less than the combined mass of 4 hydrogen atoms.
From the famous mass energy equivalence of Einstein, this tiny discrepancy of mass could easily supply enough energy to make the stars shine for billions of years.
I find this idea even today remarkable!
Chemistry and physics eventually can explain everything, even though the physics and mathematics needed is not intelligible to most of us apes.
And why should it be, for we have primarily evolved to survive and reproduce, no matter in how sophisticated way we achieve these 2 goals.
