Today papa and I met Inspector Deshmukh, our Investigating Officer.
August 25 is the day set for Sanjay Veera's bail.
So my dear mon ami, to explain the physical and chemical properties of silver like its superlative electrical and thermal conductivity, it needed great many brilliant minds to formulate a theory that is so bizarre that at first glance it seems crazier than the God hypothesis.
It was the laws of quantum mechanics that set the electrons in their proper place, quite literally.
The laws of quantum mechanics have assigned energy with each electron configuration and upon certain conditions, electrons can jump from one configuration to other either by emitting or absorbing a quantum of energy.
This quantum of energy comes in packets called photons.
If you see here, quantum mechanics has linked the ethereal, intangible light and solid matter lock, stock and barrel.
Electron configuration and thereby quantum mechanics is the key to the understanding of:
1. Understanding the arrangement of elements in the periodic table which is probably the greatest and the most beautiful table ever made by us apes and...
2. Understanding the chemistry of chemical bonding and thereby all the reactions.
At the very heart of chemistry thus lies quantum mechanics, which is pure and quintessential physics.
I think that as and when we progress and get to know the elements, I will need to keep on coming back to this most remarkable theory and the men who lay its backbone.
I always have a limited time to write since I am not a full time writer but just a wannabe Asimov with less knowledge and even lesser memory.
Hence the deficit in my explanation.
But if it arouses curiosity in you, then my work is done and I can die in sort of peace (mine is an agitated mind and restless body).
