Today we got the news that Sanjay R. Veera has vacated his
office.
It was an illegal construction in an area meant for car parking.
It seems he got notice from the BMC that it needs to be evacuated
and broken down.
This certainly will not be to the liking of the evil.
Bedtime Story
Niels Bohr went on to do his masters and PhD at the very same Copenhagen University.
Even his doctoral thesis (which in my case was neither original nor worth defending) was groundbreaking.
He concluded that the present electron theory (until 1911) is unable to explain the magnetic properties of metals nor can it comprehensively account for the Hall effect.
Hall effect is the production of voltage difference across a conductor transverse to the electric current flowing across it.
It takes some courage to defend a thesis contradicting current science or established knowledge.
In 1911 at the age of 26 with aid of a fellowship, Niels Bohr travelled to the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge, England.
This was the seat of the cutting edge atomic physics where students under the guidance of J. J. Thomson were transforming the understanding of matter and atoms.
Interestingly, he failed to impress the great J. J. Thomson.
He had far better relationships with younger men like William Lawrence Bragg (the son X-ray crystallographer) and Ernest Rutherford.
Bohr did some work under Rutherford where he happened to great personalities:
George de Hevesy (a Hungarian who developed radioactive tracers which helped us apes to understand the cellular chemistry that is the basis of biochemistry)
and
Charles Galton Darwin, the grandson of Charles Darwin but himself a physicist.
He returned to Denmark in 1912 to marry following which he soon became docent (academic rank below that of a full professor) at the University of Copenhagen.
Over there he would attack and modify Rutherford's model of atom who quite ironically in turn had attacked Thomson's model to have had established his.
We shall continue to follow this interesting story.

Good night mon ami and my fellow cousin ape.
